BEAM Inc. came into existence as a result of our experience in Canadian, Nigerian, and other international public school systems. In the Canadian public school system, educational supplies such as textbooks, notebooks and other stationary items are subsidized and provided to students in the elementary and secondary school levels such that each student is given an equal opportunity to succeed, academically.

However, in Nigeria, these educational resources are not subsidized; thus, students have to purchase them on their own. This disadvantage results in learning gaps and for some students, dropping out of school because they cannot afford the needed materials.
